There are two options for a CALM Classroom Alternative You are selecting Option 2 - A CALM Alternate (CA) in a facilitator role who can alternate for a teacher in the classroom When you book this creative arts classroom alternative, a CALM Alternate (CA) will be available to you for half day or full day at the substitute/guest educator rate of pay to be discussed. The CA will have a pre designed lesson based on the needs of the group. The teacher may also choose an arts integration model by sending with a minimum of three days notice a lesson content and outcome to be enhanced by the CA. This CA will have a teaching credential or emergency certification therefore the CA to treated as a teacher and can be alone in the classroom or with another certificated teacher or para professional. The district must provide access as a teacher if this is necessary for the CA to perform effectively. Note that CA in this option are trained to provide creative SEL presentations using arts and leisure, and can deliver these lessons in small group, whole group or individual setting. If a CALM educator is needed please select this option and begin the process. Teachers must clarify the role and expectations prior to the educator arriving. Sessions that exceed the average 7 hours will be charged additional hours accordingly.
